Klagenfurt, Austria – 24.09.2026 – The ETCOP Institute for Interdisciplinary Research is now a partner organization of She goes AI, Austria’s initiative to strengthen women’s participation in artificial intelligence, increase the visibility of female expertise and promote diversity, fairness and equal opportunities.
As an international non-profit research and education organization, ETCOP contributes expertise in artificial intelligence, Responsible AI, education, digital transformation, innovation, entrepreneurship and lifelong learning. The partnership connects ETCOP’s interdisciplinary research and educational practice with the initiative’s objective of enabling more women to actively shape the development and use of AI.
The collaboration builds on FRAU.ZUKUNFT, ETCOP’s initiative to strengthen women through continuing education, professional exchange and the development of future skills. Its programme area FRAU.MACHT.KI supports women in understanding AI, assessing its opportunities and limitations, and using it confidently, critically and responsibly. Practical courses, certificate programmes, learning materials and exchange formats address women across education, research, business, public administration and other professional fields.
'Artificial Intelligence is transforming our societies, economies, and educational systems at an unprecedented pace. Ensuring that women actively participate in shaping this transformation is essential for creating innovative, inclusive, and responsible AI solutions', said Dr. Birgit J. Oberer, Board Member of the ETCOP Institute for Interdisciplinary Research.
As a She goes AI partner organization, ETCOP plans to contribute through workshops, expert talks, AI literacy activities, community events, international knowledge exchange and collaborative projects. These activities will focus on practical competence development, responsible AI use and opportunities for women to contribute their expertise and perspectives to technological change.
Through its international projects, thematic working groups and the ETCOP Community, the institute brings together experts and practitioners from academia, education, industry, public administration and civil society. Within She goes AI Connect, these connections will support exchange among partner organizations, link national activities with international perspectives and create opportunities for cooperation across sectors.
Particular attention will be given to Responsible AI, AI in education, entrepreneurship and the visibility of women in technology, research and innovation. ETCOP aims to connect accessible learning opportunities with professional networks, helping women build the competence and confidence to take an active role in AI-related decisions and practices.
The partnership reflects ETCOP’s commitment to making women’s expertise and active participation an integral part of digital transformation. The institute looks forward to collaborating with fellow partner organizations to translate these shared objectives into educational activities, professional exchange and joint initiatives.
